Jairo J. Espinosa Oviedo received his degree in Electronic Engineering from the Universidad Distrital de Bogotá. He is magister (Cum laude) and PhD (Magna Cum Laude) in Electrical Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven. Nowadays he is Professor of the National University of Colombia in Medellin. For many years, he was a the manager of researcher and development at the IPCOS N.V company in Belgium where he carried out researches in control systems for advanced processes. He has been involved with the development and creation of products to build inferential sensors, predictive drivers based on models and process optimization.
Professor Espinosa has practical experience in several industrial areas including the petroleum industry, polymers, petrochemicals, automotive, power generation and iron production, where he has applied many of his developments. His research interests are control of large scale systems, intelligent control, modeling of nonlinear systems, predictive control based on models, inferential sensors and order reduction techniques.
In addition, Jairo Espinosa has been director of master's theses related to city planning, dynamic models of transport systems, power systems, predictive and robust control schemes, game theory, brain process modeling, signal processing, image processing, artificial intelligence, among other areas.

He is Chemical Engineer from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, during his training, he focused on topics of biotechnology and bioprocesses, such as bioreactor engineering and water treatment. He has a master's degree in Chemical Engineering with emphasis on process control. On his Master thesis, he designed control strategies for processes that operate in batches. He has a Ph.D. in Engineering - Energetic Systems, in which he developed methodologies for the optimal design of photobioreactors for the cultivation of microalgae. He has developed engineering solutions using computational fluid dynamics software. He is currently working on the ENERGÉTICA 2030 project in the development of more efficient photobioreactors.

Juan Pablo is a student of Electrical Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Within the framework of projects carried out in the group, he has developed tools for locating thunderstorms and participated in the construction of software for the estimation of real-time states of an electric power system taking into account real measurements. His interest areas include the co-simulation of power systems, the analysis of power systems and the development of software tools with applications in electrical engineering.
What do we do?
We use our multidisciplinary knowledge in areas such as Mathematics, Control Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanics, Systems, Electrical, and Electronics, in order to generate solutions for the processes automation, modeling, optimization, and monitoring of production systems.

Software
