We develop breakthrough research in reservoir geomechanics and provide modern coupled simulation tools to help you to design, evaluate and optimize the production, stimulation, and recovery processes of both conventional and non-conventional hydrocarbon reservoirs.

About us

GIGA was founded in 1999 by petroleum engineers at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, for the purpose of incorporating the geomechanical component to reservoir engineering, by coupling the fluid flow in porous media and the stress-deformation relation through computer science.

Our mission is to produce, apply and share the knowledge in applied geomechanics, improving the hydrocarbons exploitation worldwide through research projects.

We are an interdisciplinary group conformed by more than 20 professionals and students. We support three university programs at Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
