The Organizing Committee of the 9th International Symposium on Geomechanics "Applied geomechanics in proactive designs: Opportunities, challenges and security" invites all professionals and academics in hydrocarbon reservoirs geomechanics to submit abstracts of their work to participate in the event conferences. Abstracts must be related to the topics of the event:

• Geomechanical issues in Brown fields.
• Geomechanics on heavy oil reservoirs and thermal recovery.
• Unconventional reservoirs geomechanics.
• Wellbore stability and integrity.
• Hydraulic fracturing.
• Sand production: prediction, quantification, management and phenomena associated modeling.
• Caprock integrity.
• Geomechanical damage.
• Naturally fractured reservoirs.
• Geomechanics related to fluid disposal activities in the subsoil: water, gases, CO2, etc.
• Geomechanical reservoir management.
• Geomechanical laboratory tests.
• Emerging technologies applied to geomechanics.

All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and, if accepted, the author/s will be asked to submit a full paper. If paper is accepted by the Scientific Committee, this will present in the conference and will be included in the digital event memories. The event memories in addition to being deliveries to attendees, will also be published in the specialized digital library OnePetro in the ISRM Specialized Conference category.

Requirements for abstract:

• Abstracts submission deadline: November 13 2020.
• Both the abstracts and the article must be written in English, abstracts will no receive in another language.
• The abstract must contain: related event thematic line or lines, name of the authors (maximum 10), affiliation of the authors, email of the authors and keywords (between 3 and 6).
• The maximum number of words for the text is 400. Title, authors, affiliations, emails, topics, and keywords will not be counted in the 400 word limit. Figures and tables are not permitted. References are not necessary.
• It is expected abstract contains clearly justification / motivation for your work, methodology adopted in the research and the results obtained, even if they are preliminary.
• The abstract must send in PDF and the it cannot exceed 200 KB.
• The submitting author will receive a confirmation email of the abstract submission.
• At least one author of each accepted paper must register to the conference.
